We love building relationships with our customers and going on their life journeys with them. We are delighted to be there for our customers special moments as well as their significant others. From Christening gifts to first watches to engagement rings, we want to celebrate with our customers. We love seeing our customers time and time again and checking in with them. We catch up with Audrey Murphy, Senior Manager at Accenture and a great friend of Weir & Sons.
Audrey’s story is one of stealth on the part of her fiancé, Daire, who proposed August 2017. “I actually had come into Weir & Sons to buy myself a 30th birthday present, a ring that I’d seen that I really loved. Then Daire pointed out this ring to me, but I was so distracted I totally didn’t remember. He had been in to Weir & Sons at that point already and gotten great guidance, and was doing a good trawl through.” Audrey readily admits to being very particular, and when Daire had asked her parents several months in advance of the proposal, her father had given the young man one simple piece of advice: Let her pick the ring herself.
Daire was determined, though. “My mother said she could see at the time, the look in his eyes just said, ‘I am going to pick the ring and it’s going to be perfect’.” The ring is a platinum diamond set with a radiant cut diamond, surrounded by 42 diamonds and from the Weir & Sons collection. So did Daire get it right? “I didn’t really think about engagement rings, what I did and didn’t like, but I love three-stone engagement rings. Also, it’s an engagement ring, it’s the nicest gift you are ever going to receive. So whether it’s something I thought I would have picked myself or not, the reality is the minute you put it in your finger, it is wonderful. He did a great job.”
