Every year, Rolex releases new watches to its repertoire. This year, the brand has made updates to five of its collections, each carefully designed and with exceptional attention to detail.
The Explorer models embody the privileged relationship that has always bound Rolex and exploration. Since the late 1920s, Rolex has been using the world as a proving ground to test its watches under real-life conditions, in the quest for greater precision, robustness and reliability.
This year, the Oyster Perpetual Explorer sees the reintroduction of the 36 mm case, the original size first introduced in 1953. The collection has been updated to present a new version in Oystersteel and yellow gold with a black lacquer dial.
The dial is one of the most distinctive features of a Rolex watch. The numerals at 3, 6 and 9 on the new-generation Explorer are filled with a luminescent material that emits a long-lasting blue glow.
Rolex has introduced the new-generation Explorer II with a redesigned case and bracelet. This technical watch has been equipped with calibre 3285, a movement at the forefront of watchmaking technology. Calibre 3285 offers up to 70 hours of power reserve and, like all Rolex watches, carries the Superlative Chronometer certification ensuring excellent performance on the wrist.
The white dial on this watch combined with the fixed 24-hour bezel and an orange 24-hour hand are distinctive features of the Explorer II. The hour markers and hands both feature a highly legible Chromalight display with long-lasting blue luminescence. The case is made of Oystersteel, an extremely resistant and reliable material that maintains its beauty even in the harshest of environments.
This year, Rolex is introducing four new versions of the Datejust 36 with beautiful, exclusive dial designs featuring palm and fluted motifs.
The Datejust 36 is equipped with the 3235 calibre movement providing up to 70 hours of power reserve.
The Oyster Perpetual Datejust is the archetype of the classic watch thanks to functions and aesthetics that never go out of fashion. This year, Rolex presents the Datejust 36 featuring new ‘palm’ and ‘fluted’ dial motifs. The palm motif evokes lush, vibrant tropical forests, while the fluted motif showcases the pattern found on a range of Rolex bezels that has become one of the brand’s signature aesthetic styles.
Launched in 1963, the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona was designed to meet the needs of professional racing drivers. This year, Rolex presents exclusive versions of its Cosmograph Daytona, the benchmark for those with a passion for driving and speed. They feature a dial made from metallic meteorite – a rare natural material from outer space – with black chronograph counters at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock.
Rolex presents the new Cosmograph Daytona with meteorite dial, whose special and mystical appearance evokes the wonders of the cosmos.
The tachymeter bezel is a key feature on the Cosmograph Daytona and is used for measuring speeds of up to 400 miles per hour. The black ceramic bezel on the 18 ct white gold version is reminiscent of the 1965 model; corrosion-resistant and virtually scratchproof, its colour is unaffected by UV rays.
This exquisite Rolex has 44 round brilliant-cut diamonds set into its 18 ct yellow gold bezel. The dial features pavé-set diamonds and black Roman numerals which further add to the watch’s allure. The bracelet includes 596 diamonds set into the three-piece links. Every part of this timepiece is adorned with the highest quality gems; the case sides and the lugs are no exception. Sparkling with over 7.5 carats of diamonds, this watch also comes in a white gold version. It is fitted with calibre 2236 and offers a power reserve of up to 55 hours.
The classic Rolex feminine watch, the Oyster Perpetual Lady-Datejust appeared in 1957, carrying the elegance of the Datejust in a small 28 mm size perfectly suited to a slender wrist. This year, Rolex presents a new gem-set version of its Lady-Datejust. This watch, crafted from 18 ct gold, showcases the captivating shine of the diamonds that adorn every surface.
