It required moving the date aperture to 9 o’clock, modifying the date disc, as well as moving the winding crown to the left side of the watch case. These adjustments led to changes in the precision testing process carried out during final controls. The Cerachrom bezel inserts is in green and black, which is an original colour combination, exclusive to this watch. The GMT-Master II is a watch whose appearance is always up to date. It holds onto its contemporary appeal while displaying changes that illustrate Rolex’s drive for aesthetic and technical excellence.

Due to the challenging nature of working with platinum, it took many years of research and development to achieve this aesthetic and technical feature. The process of creating the fluting on the bezel was originally designed for gold, therefore it had to be adapted in order to manufacture this bezel. This reflects Rolex’s perfectionism. The new Day-Date 40 gleams brightly, exemplifying one of the brand’s key ideals: to master materials in order to make better progress.exemplifying one of the brand’s key ideals: to master materials in order to make better progress.
