TAG Heuer unveiled the new Carrera Skipper chronograph in 18K 5N rose gold at Watches and Wonders, Geneva on April 9, 2024. The luxurious timepiece is inspired by the best-selling ‘glassbox’ design from early 2023, celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Carrera chronograph.

Equipped with the Heuer 02 in-house calibre for regatta timing, the 39mm 18K 5N rose gold case boasts a mix of brushed and polished finishes for a sophisticated look. Despite its high-end material, the Skipper remains a practical sailing watch, featuring a curved flange dial for clear visibility in all conditions.

Drawing inspiration from the historic Skipper Reference 7754 from 1968, the gold Skipper showcases a sea-blue main dial with contrasting ‘Intrepid Teal’ subdials and a regatta counter with three coloured segments for accurate timing during regattas.

The colours on the original Skipper chronograph of 1968, celebrating the America's Cup victory of the 'Intrepid', are replicated on this model.

The tricolour 15-minute countdown subdial features Lagoon Green, Intrepid Teal, and Regatta Orange.

The 18K 5N rose gold model includes triangular markers, a 'regatta orange' central seconds hand, and a discreet 'Skipper' nameplate.

Applied, 18K 5N rose gold-plated hour markers and a date window at six o’clock complete the design.

The case back reveals the in-house Heuer 02 Skipper calibre, a column wheel chronograph movement with 80 hours of power reserve and a new bi-directional rotor in the shape of TAG Heuer’s shield symbol.

The 18K 5N rose gold Skipper comes on a blue textile strap with a matching pin buckle. Available as a Connected watch face, the Carrera Chronograph Skipper combines luxury and collectability in TAG Heuer’s signature style.

The brand’s relationship with the sea dates back to the 1940s when they began producing watches for Abercrombie & Fitch. This led to the creation of iconic timepieces like the Solunar and Seafarer chronographs, solidifying TAG Heuer's role as a leader in maritime history.
