Thomas Weir Hallmark/Makers Mark

Thomas Weir Hallmark/Makers Mark
TW Hallmark

The TW hallmark/makers mark has been used by Weir & Sons since 1872. The vast majority of TW hallmarks are found with the Dublin Assay office stamp. TW represent the initials of our founder Thomas Weir who set up in partnership with A. Rogers in 1869. In 1871 the partners went their separate ways with Thomas Weir registering the TW makers mark in 1872 with the Dublin Assay office. Weir & Sons continue to use the TW mark to this day in tribute to our founder. You will find our hall mark on most of the silver we have produced over the years along with Jewellery and commissioned pieces. Below you can see our makers mark on the left.
