Introducing Chupi: For Those Wild at Heart
Just arrived at The Fashion Room, contemporary Irish jewellery designer Chupi with time honoured delicate pieces from original hand sketched designs. Inspired by the beauty of nature and the story of love, Chupi’s collection of silver, rose gold and gold plated pieces are impossible to resist.
Fashion designer turned jeweller Chupi Sweetman-Pell set up a jewellery design business of her own in Ireland just 2 years ago. Irresistibly drawn to wild and natural things from a young age, Chupi began designing jewellery by casting pieces she found in Ireland herself such as real swan feathers, tiny twigs, leaves and acorns. Chupi collects from the wild until she finds the perfect piece to cast using an ancient Egyptian technique. Her sterling silver and gold plated creations are much loved for their natural simplicity and deep connection to the wild.
From a carefully carved chestnut tree branch, to the signature 13 leaves and the much loved swan feather, each Chupi design draws inspiration from all things wild at heart. Each of Chupi’s pieces are designed, made and finished with love in Ireland in the Chupi studio in the heart of Dublin city and hallmarked in Dublin Castle. Available in rose and gold plated silver and sterling silver, the collection consists of delicate pendants, necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings. Inspired by the ancient Egyptian method of casting, sterling silver is coated in a thick layer of 18 carat gold. Each piece tells its own unique story from the original feather or branch it fell from. Designed to be loved for a lifetime, these delicate and light gold plated and silver pieces are timeless yet effortlessly fashion forward and can be worn individually or layered up.
Chupi will be unveiling her Spring Summer 2016 collections as part of Unfold at London Fashion Week this September following her jewellery showcase at New York Fashion Week. The Chupi collection is available to Weir & Sons online and in store in our exclusive Fashion Department on Grafton Street.
