Our Engraving Service
We are proud to offer both traditional hand engraving and precision computerised engraving, allowing each item to be personalised using the most suitable technique. Our experienced engraving specialists combine craftsmanship and modern technology to achieve a refined and lasting finish across a wide range of jewellery and gift items.
Engraving is available on selected items purchased in store or online, as well as on many existing pieces.

Hand engraving is a traditional method that offers a distinctive and individual finish. It is particularly suited to jewellery and personal pieces such as baby bangles, cufflinks and sentimental gifts.

How Our Engraving Service Works
Engraving can be arranged through our Service Department, located on the lower ground floor of our Grafton Street store, where our team will guide you through wording, placement and style options to ensure suitability for your item.
Once confirmed, your piece is carefully prepared and engraved by our specialists. Engraving is not a same-day service, and completion times vary depending on the item and engraving method, with most pieces completed within several working days.
For online purchases, please allow approximately three additional working days prior to dispatch for engraved items. If you are unable to visit in store, our Service Department can be contacted at service1@weirandsons.ie to discuss your requirements.

Yes, engraving is an additional service, with prices starting from €25, depending on the item and complexity of the design.
Is it a same-day service? How long does it take for my engraving to be completed?
Engraving is not a same-day service. Typically, it takes three to four working days to complete. During busy periods, additional time may be required to ensure each piece is finished to the highest standard.
Will engraving delay delivery or collection of my order placed online?
Yes, please allow an extra three to four working days for engraving to be completed before your order can be processed and dispatched. This ensures your personalised item is handled with the care and precision it deserves.
Can I return or exchange engraved items?
Engraved items cannot be returned or exchanged, in line with our terms and conditions, as they are considered personalised creations.
Do you facilitate special requests?
We are happy to explore special engraving requests, provided we have the suitable equipment and expertise to complete the work. Our skilled engravers have handled many unique projects. Can I engrave jewellery purchased elsewhere?
Yes, we can engrave items purchased from other retailers, as long as the piece is suitable for our equipment and expertise. Please bring the item in for assessment or contact our Service Department for guidance.
What items can be engraved?
Most jewellery and small luxury items can be engraved, depending on their size, surface, and design. Our team will advise on suitability at the time of assessment.
How many characters can be engraved on an item?
Character limits depend on the size of the item and the available engraving surface. Our team will provide guidance to ensure your chosen inscription fits elegantly.
Can I engrave symbols or special characters?
Yes, symbols and special characters can often be engraved using our hand engraving method. However, not every piece is suitable for this technique. To explore your options, we recommend visiting our Service Department or contacting us via email.
Will engraving affect the warranty of my item?
In most cases, engraving may affect the warranty. We advise checking the warranty conditions for your item before proceeding with any personalised engraving.
Which metals can be engraved?
