St Valentine's Day Gift Guide 2020
The story of Saint Valentine began in Rome in 270 AD, at the time of Emperor Claudius II. Emperor Claudius had decreed that married men didn't make good soldiers and prohibited marriage. Saint Valentine felt this law was unjust and performed marriage ceremonies in secret, sadly he was caught and Emperor Claudius sentenced him to death for his crimes. While in jail awaiting his execution he is believed to have fallen in love with the jailor's daughter. On the morning of his execution, his last love letter to her was found signed "your Valentine".
